Weir Stakes

Weir stakes (also called weir poles) are a specialty product that Reed Forestry Ltd provides to fishermen.

We are always interested in buying poplar, tamarack, or hardwood stakes from landowners.

The traditional specifications for each species are as follows:

- Hardwood - 45' and up
- Poplar - 65' and up
- Tamarack - 65' and up

Reed Forestry Ltd has recently acquired a new machine to remedy the problem of finding long hardwood poles.
In conjunction with the Fundy Weir Fishermen Association Inc. this machine was fabricated to combine two
stakes into one long one. This will allow the Association to continue buying local product for weirs which will be
able to go into deeper water.
